Madang Provincial Government sponsors MFC

first_imgMadang Governor Jim Kas and patron of Madang MFC revealed that in a press conference saying his government will continue to support MFC with another K500, 000.Governor Kas  said they have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Motor Vehicle Insurance Limited for a funding arrangement.Kas said soccer had been the backbone of Madang Province and everyone from the children up to old maen and women loves soccer and the sponsorship goes a long way to promote unity through soccer in the province.Kas, who spent most of his evening watching the MFC boys training under the watchful eyes of coach Bob Morris and assistant Amos Romo, says this is the spirit and he applauded the MFC board and management for the appointment of Bob Morris as head coach and Amos Romo as his assistant plus Max Kitao as team manager.He urged all MFC supporters to rally behind him and support the MFC campaign this year with aims to bring the title to Madang and qualify for A League next season.Meanwhile Madang Soccer Association president Ray Romo says MFC have paid their players registration team affiliation fee for this season and are into training.Romo says 30 players have registered and the final list will be made this weekend and put out on notice boards, in the meantime big name players Samuel Kini, Max Sengum, Vanya Malagin, Neill Hans, Henson Topio, Sammy Hiob have resumed training with the new local players selected.He also said that brothers Alwin and Felix Komolong will join the team before the start of the season with Alwin currently in USA while Felix is in New Zealand studying.He added that Madang FC is ready to tackle the strong Lae, Manus and Goroka sides in the upcoming season.last_img
