A couple of unforced errors led to Australia’s first try with Matt Gillett scoring in the 22nd minute off a Cameron Smith cut out pass.Billy Slater scored on the right edge eight minutes later after Sean O’Loughlin conceded a penalty late in the previous set. Crowd: 22,724. Half-time: 10-4. The Kangaroos scored three tries to one but England showed they were more than capable of matching their old foe. While the result didn’t go England’s way their bigger concern will be the fitness of star forward Sam Burgess, who was sidelined in the first half with a knee injury. The home side set the tone with a bruising opening set in defence but it was the English who scored first, winger Jermaine McGillvary crossing in the corner in the fifth minute from a sweeping England backline movement. The Kangaroos then dominated possession over the next 10 minutes to force three repeat sets of six but England managed to hold their line.
Madang Governor Jim Kas and patron of Madang MFC revealed that in a press conference saying his government will continue to support MFC with another K500, 000.Governor Kas said they have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Motor Vehicle Insurance Limited for a funding arrangement.Kas said soccer had been the backbone of Madang Province and everyone from the children up to old maen and women loves soccer and the sponsorship goes a long way to promote unity through soccer in the province.Kas, who spent most of his evening watching the MFC boys training under the watchful eyes of coach Bob Morris and assistant Amos Romo, says this is the spirit and he applauded the MFC board and management for the appointment of Bob Morris as head coach and Amos Romo as his assistant plus Max Kitao as team manager. He urged all MFC supporters to rally behind him and support the MFC campaign this year with aims to bring the title to Madang and qualify for A League next season.Meanwhile Madang Soccer Association president Ray Romo says MFC have paid their players registration team affiliation fee for this season and are into training.Romo says 30 players have registered and the final list will be made this weekend and put out on notice boards, in the meantime big name players Samuel Kini, Max Sengum, Vanya Malagin, Neill Hans, Henson Topio, Sammy Hiob have resumed training with the new local players selected. He also said that brothers Alwin and Felix Komolong will join the team before the start of the season with Alwin currently in USA while Felix is in New Zealand studying. He added that Madang FC is ready to tackle the strong Lae, Manus and Goroka sides in the upcoming season.
In both cases, the club said they did show up in training, but that they didn’t jump into the field because they stayed in the locker room doing specific work. A euphemism like any other to explain that they were finalizing their exit from the Blaugrana entity.Who returned to training is already a recovered Riqui Puig, who was low for the match against Valencia because of a febrile process. The French striker Ousmane Dembélé was also working with the group, although he still does not complete the training with the group.Setién also called the players of the subsidiary to complete the training with the first team: Peña, Chumi, Colllado, Saverio, Abel Ruiz and Araujo, apart from Ansu Fati, which from the first day is in dynamics of the first team. Before starting the training, the squad paid homage to Kobe Bryant, dedicating a minute of silence to him. Two outstanding absences in training this Tuesday. On the one hand, that of the subsidiary striker, Carles Pérez, who is finalizing his transfer to Rome, although the operation is still in the air since the player will only accept to leave if he does so with a buyback clause. The problem is that the Roman club is not for the work and will only accept a transfer with compulsory purchase of 13 million at the end of the season. The other absence was the Senegalese side, Moussa Wagué, who could enter the Rodrigo operation to make his transfer cheaper. In principle, the African defender looks forward to leaving Barcelona to leave for the ‘che’ entity.
Celades spoke in Movistar LaLiga:Balance: “We are very happy because we have won. We have had occasions and they have theirs. We are happy. We have won and we have four games without conceding a goal. We came from a very hard game, with extra time.”Rodrigo: “We have had a lot of uncertainty about Rodrigo’s theme. He made a great effort to play against Barça, we love him very much and we are very happy to enjoy him these months.”Garay: “I know it’s something of the knee but I don’t know exactly what. We have to do tests.”Florenzi: “I have seen him very well. He has come in shape, he came from playing. We understood that it was a good time for him to play. I congratulate him.”In Champions positions: “You have to go step by step, We have advanced in the table. We continue in a good dynamic. I would like to be more effective in the rival area. But the fact of being four match without fitting is very good.”Getafe: “We have a meeting in Granada first. We want to continue in good dynamics. We still don’t think about Getafe.”Then he spoken press conference:Match plan: “We were coming from a very big effort on Wednesday. People who didn’t start on Wednesday have been able to play. We wanted to have that freshness and that’s why we started like that. We keep moving forward.”Gameiro: “We are very happy with him. He is not scoring goals. One of the main characteristics of the strikers is to score. But surely he will do it again. Going out for a few minutes is not only easy but we are happy with him.”Occasions: “We have had occasions to make more goals. There have been occasions for both teams. We are happy to have climbed the table but it does not change much. We must remain the same.”Champions on day 22: “One more incentive. The most important thing is that we keep moving forward. Being fourth gives you a good job. We are overcoming difficulties.” Ferran: “From the band in he has done very well. He gives us performance where he plays although his ideal position is in the band. They are free to exchange positions.”Garay: “It has to be tested yet.”Market: “From when it was closed we already know who we are until the end. We have brought Florenzi who will help us and we are very happy that Rodrigo stays with us.”Is Ferran ahead of Gameiro and Rodrigo in the lead ?: “They are different situations. Maxi, Gameiro and Sobrino are more forward and Ferran makes this second point better. It does not mean that they are ahead.”Rodrigo: “Rodrigo is a prop for us. That’s why I wanted to sign Barça. He is a differential player and is able to decide a game. We value what he did against Barça. He wanted to play, with the market open, when he could have said don’t do it. “Goalkeepers: “We thought that it was not necessary to give part of Cillessen. It seems that it is but it has a discomfort in the back of the thigh. Jaume had all our confidence, we have good games. Jaume is doing very well and we are happy with both “.Ball that takes Parejo under sticks: “I think that happens because Parejo loves football. And how he knows everyone and everything, he knows Parejo everything about the National Team … and it was his decision.” Minutes accumulation: “We are concerned that some players play many minutes, more than we would like. But given the situation we had, we had to do it.”What key did you play after Mallorca?: “This is the merit of the players. In Mallorca we take a chase because it was not a team according to these players. This team does not give up. The thing about Mallorca can happen It happens to us all. Today we competed very well. In that final match where Wednesday’s matches are noticed. “
Koke: Fallen to the right, he emptied himself helping Vrsaljko and trying to cover roads in the middle. His first action was the corner kick taken in the 4 ’for Saul’s goal. He tried to put temper when the ball reached his feet and combined well both on the right and on the left, where he played in the second half.Thomas: Well plugging in the middle, although cheek with the ball on the feet. He had a couple of losses that unhinged Simeone and could put the team in trouble. At the end of the first half he tried a distant shot that came near the post. In the addition he tried from the center circle too.Saul: As in many other great Champions nights, there was Saul’s goal. At first, he took advantage of a loose ball in a corner to make the 1-0. Then he had to work in the middle and fulfilled, also giving way to the team. In addition, it is one of the tricks that Oblak looks for in long balls.Lemar: The bell of the starting team. Nobody was waiting for him, but he formed a lane with Lodi before Alexander-Arnold and Salah. They got along well and even allowed some climbs through the band, very cautiously. He had a good chance after a long shipment of Felipe to the uncheck, although it was out of play. Replaced in the break by Llorente.belt: He stood on top next to Morata with a double mission, hindering the exit of Liverpool and flocking the balls combed by his attacking partner. In the former he emptied and in the latter he was less fortunate. Alternate good controls with conduits in which the ball was left behind. Changed in 77 ‘under a strong ovation.Morata: The team’s battering ram also emptied. He tried to make the team long when he had the ball, but it cost him too much. Yes, he won numerous balls launched by Oblak, although with little continuity. In the 25th minute a great personal play was stewed, with a cut over Fabinho, but Alisson took it 2-0. After the break he was physically weakened, although he did not lower his dose of effort. In 66 ’he got a perfect satin ball to shoot, but he tripped before finishing off. Changed in the 70’s.Substitutions:Llorente: He entered after the break for Lemar and placed himself on the right. His first action was to reach the bottom line and serve Vrsaljko behind, who messed up and didn’t finish off.Vitolo: He entered Morata in the 70’s and placed on top.Diego Costa: He entered 77 ‘by Correa and burst the Wanda Metropolitano. Well with the ball and playing over. He had them with Van Dijk. He sucked on a pacifier against the additive and kicked out. Oblak: In the first part he did not try Liverpool, although much of the time was played around his area.
